I had no idea that there was a Whisky-A-Go-Go at the New York World's Fair. I knew that Elmer was expanding his Whisky "franchise" (or "brand," to use the modern term) all over the country, but the various incarnations all failed, and he stopped talking about them.

The Second NYC World's Fair season was April through October 1965, so the timing fits perfectly. You don't happen to recall which building or exhibit the Whisky was located in, by any chance (here's a map: http://www.westland.net/ny64fair/map-docs/fair64-mainmap.htm).

Thanks for adding this amazing piece of information.Corry342https://www.blogger.com/profile/08049035074121231425noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8015290367489085356.post-50819677877926734202014-01-30T22:17:49.026-08:002014-01-30T22:17:49.026-08:00I played at the SF Whisky for several months with ...I played at the SF Whisky for several months with a band called the Newports. We played two nights at the Whisky in Hollywood, flew to SF and played three nights. We did this until Elmer Valentine sent us to open the Whisky in the New York World's fair.
